I am a consumer advocate for homeowners… and everyday I hear horror stories of how trusting homeowners got ripped off by a company or a lawyer that promised to take care of them.
Negotiating with a Lender like BofA has become a nightmare for so many people here in the Treasure Valley… and there is no end in sight. They may send you forms to fill out and smile when they meet you, but beware of your Lender, for they have become like loan sharks who will go to any length to collect, even if it is fraudulent.
Recently I have had so many people call me with the same story: I didn’t know about HAMP or HAFA- free programs designed to protect homeowners when modifying their loan or short selling the home. If you Short Sale your home, YOU MUST use HAFA to ensure you will not have to ever pay the bank another dime. Yesterday a friend of mine got a bill for $ 65,000 for a home he and his wife did a short sale on in ’09!
If you need any help or free advice, fell free to call or email me immediately…. this is what I do: help people battle their banks and win!
Make very smart decisions and be careful who you to business with… check with the BBB and ask for quality referrals- this is probably the most important decision you will ever make financially. I hear so many ads on the radio about companies offering a short sale with no for sale sign… what they don’t tell you is how much you are still on the hook for potentially down the line. China is buying a ton of our debt, and these types of obligations blind side Idaho residents everyday- don’t let it happen to you!
Good Luck has no place for a time like this- have a strategy and know your options!
